How to use accesskeys within popular desktop browsers

In most all cases, press the access key simultaniously with Alt on the PC, or Ctrl on the Mac. Here is more detail for specific desktop browser versions:

Google Chrome 3 and higher

Use Alt on Windows and Linux, Ctrl+Alt on Mac.

Firefox

Alt+Shift on Windows and Linux, Ctrl on Mac.

Internet Explorer

Use Alt. On IE8 and earlier, you also then need to press Enter.

Safari 4 and higher

Alt on Windows, Ctrl+Alt on Mac.

Opera

In Opera, press and release Shift+Esc then press the desired access key.
